BudPots vs AC Infinity, Vivosun, & DrnCrn

Which Fabric Grow Pot Offers the Best Long-Term Value for Serious Growers?

There are dozens of fabric pots available online, such as AC Infinity, Vivosun, DrnCrn, and others. While these brands offer affordable, functional grow bags, they are soft and hard to fill, transplant, and train your plants, and they are definitely not made to last. BudPots, on the other hand, were designed specifically for cannabis growers who want better transplanting, easier training, and long-lasting construction. See below for comparison.

Top Rim

AC Infinity, Vivosun, and DrnCrn, as well as all other plant-training grow bags have a flimsy, soft top rim, which is typically reinforced by a second layer of fabric. However, since they come folded at the top, here are the 3 main issues they present.

3 Issues with Common Grow Bag Rims

  • Filling - the sides fold in while filling, and soil falls outside, making a mess
  • Transplants - the sides fold in when transplanting seedlings, also making a mess
  • Training - the sides fold in multiple directions, moving your branches around

How the BudPots Top Rim Avoids This

  • Filling - the sides stay upright just like in plastic pots, preventing any dirt spills
  • Transplants - prevents your seedlings from touching the sides and spilling soil
  • Training - the sides never move, giving your branches permanent shapes

LST Grommets

Rust

All plant-training grow bags have grommets made of steel, which rust after only a few months. Even the ones that come coated in black or silver end up rusting after a few uses, since the humidity gets into them through the surface cracks created during pressing.

The BudPots, however, are made out of aluminum grommets, which by nature, never rust or corrode. They can be used for over a decade, and will never stain.

Tear

Also, some of the these grow bags' grommets are not rated for high branch pressures, sometimes tearing off the grommets from the fabric.

The BudPots, on the other hand, have grommets that are rated for 10lb of pressure, meaning no branch will ever pull them off. We have had zero returns due to grommets coming off.

Handles

AC Infinity, Vivosun, and DrnCrn all have strong handles that likely won't tear off during use. The only excpetion is DrnCrn, which may tear on the heavier pots, since the fabric is so thin. However, all of these handles are sewn too close to the top rim, making it difficult to move plants that are trained without getting your hands and forearms into the plants.

The BudPots have solved this problem by having handles that hold below the top rim, making it easier for you to pick up your plants and move them around your garden.

Volume & Thickness

This one is pretty evident. For writing this article, we purchased the 3Ga versions of each brand, and then measured them with a tape measure and a calliper.

While AC Infinity was the only one to have a true 3Ga volume, it ended up having thinner fabric than VIVOSUN, which in turn had 25% less volume than it claimed. DrnCrn is by far the thinnest, smallest of them all.

The BudPots come out ahead of the curve with not only the thickest fabric, but also by being true to its volume below the grommets. They are so thick and durable that you can even wash them by hand or in the washing machine for a lifetime.

What Makes BudPots Stand Out

Structured Rim for Easy Handling

BudPots feature a rigid rim at the top that holds shape when you fill with soil or water. All other fabric pots collapse inward, making everyday use frustrating, especially in tight grow spaces.

Grommet System Built for a Lifetime

Low-stress training is easier with BudPots thanks to their rust-proof, tear-resistant grommets. They can each withstand up to 10lb of pressure, and since they are made of aluminum, they will never rust, no matter what.

Lower Handles for Easy Carrying

All grow bags come with handles that go well above the top rim, which makes it difficult to transport your plants without touching them with your hands or forearms. The BudPots have low-profile handles that make it easy to move your plants around, without ever touching them.

Summary

AC Infinity, Vivosun, DrnCrn, and other brands offer affordable entry points if you are growing in fabrics, and they do a decent job for low-maintenance plants. However, they often skip key features growers need: structure, durability, training support, and transplanting ease.

BudPots offer all of those plus long-term use, smart design, and a smoother grow from seed to harvest. If you’re tired of sagging bags, root damage, and DIY workarounds, BudPots are a worthy upgrade.
